Downtown, very tasty breakfasts, clean.
A very small shower cubicle.
Great location in the beautiful old Town, very good value, comfortable and pleasant hotel, would recommend to anybody and will stay again.
This is a beautiful, old hotel, with authentic wooden floors and antiques. It is lovely to look at. The breakfast, which is included, is phenomenal; I don't think you could possibly ask for a better breakfast, and the fact it's included in the price is much appreciated, since the hotel is not inexpensive to stay at (I paid more for this hotel per day than I did for a centrally-located 3-4 star hotel in Paris two weeks ago!).
For the price, which was pretty steep (something like $200 us a day) I thought the room left a lot to be desired. The bed was good, the decorations were very pretty. However, the room is one of theirs that looks over an unlovely alley in what turns out to be Gamla Stan's noisier areas, where there are quite a few bars that go until at least one A.M. in the tourist season. The noise was impossible to ignore from the 2nd floor, and since it was warmer than usual, closing the windows could not be replaced by air conditioning, because Sweden doesn't think of itself as warm enough to have much in the way of air conditioning—something that's going to have to change, in my estimation. Then, the bathroom was laughably tiny, considering the size of the room, which was a good size. You could sit on the toilet and wash your hands in the oversize sink, which has its advantages, I suppose, if you like to multitask. Aside from that, it's a good room, the price is too high, the location is right inside Gamla Stan, which I thought, at first, would be ideal, and then later regretted being that close to the nighttime action. I had no idea Gamla Stan was so popular with young people. I love Gamla Stan; absolutely love it, but next time, will stay somewhere less centrally located and walk more.

The Rica Hotel is situated very conveniently for the Hop-on-hop-off boats and busses. The alleys are a delight, especially at night . There are lovely little shop for browsing and shopping and the atmosphere is electric. The hotel is nicely decorated and our room, although not 5star, was comfortable and pleasing on the eye. The buffet breakfast was amazing--- I'm not sure that one could think of anything else one might like. I found it difficult to choose what I wanted as it was all so tempting. I found the reception staff very helpful and friendly
Excellent location. Very comfortable hotel which is great for visitors to city. Excellent breakfast, coffee/ tea facilites
tea coffee and quietness
Great position - all sights and transport easily accessible. Wonderful breakfasts with a huge choice. Comfortable cosy rooms. Friendly staff at the reception desk.
The breakfast room is not quite big enough to accommodate people at peak times.
The location is very good for city tour.
Wonderful location in old town Stockholm. Nicely updated bathroom. Very clean.
Bed was not very comfortable, and the sheets did not fit--seems they were putting full or queen sheets on a king size bed. They were in a bundle in the middle of the bed by morning. Not comfortable.
The staff was incredible and rooms spotless! Location in Old Town was convenient and lovely
Excellent location, very helpful staff - Magnus, Helena and Shirin -, free internet in room, good breakfast, great shower with plentiful hot water.
minor things - no hooks in the bathroom!
If you are looking to stay in Gamla Stan, this location could not have been beat. We walked all over Gamla Stan and the train stop is just 1 block away to anywhere in Stockholm.
Contrary to the reviews we had read about the staff, we found them to be somewhat cold and hard to communicate with. We had to have a car as we were driving to other parts of Sweden. Parking was not convenient and no instructions for entering or exiting the parking garage are offered in English. If you need to park your car...get someone to explain the procedure..and p.s. "utfart" means "exit"..good to know, right.
The hotel was clean, in a great location, personnel were friendly, acces to walking areas, restaurants, shops and sights in old town was perfect. Really liked the quaintness, the breakfast was WONDERFUL! And there even was an ironing board and iron available on our flour.
Rica met all my needs!
